Hello everyone, often we find someone's status very amusing, but we are limited to only 24 hours of window before we can access the status, and it disappears. We can screenshot the picture status, but what do we do when the status is in the form of video? Today, a lot of apps are there in the market which allow us to save the status in our gallery. The problem is that most of these apps are ads supported and hence we have to wait for a certain time to get past that ad in order to perform any action. These ads are sometimes annoying as well. Moreover, these apps also consume a lot of unnecessary space which can be used someone else for different purpose. No need to worry now onwards, because I am going to tell you a very simple way to save anyone's status in the gallery.

Today I am going to tell you a very easy process on how to save anyone's WhatsApp status in your gallery. For that, you have to follow this step-by-step guide carefully, and you are good to go.

Procedure:

Step 1: Open File Manager

Open file manager of your choice. In most cases, default file manager/ files app will do fine.

Step 2: Go to Internal Storage

Go to internal storage of your device. This is default storage of your device. For latest device, this can be only storage. In this case, just go to home location of storage.

Step 3: Open Folder named "WhatsApp"

Find the folder named WhatsApp. To do this, you can sort files list in descending order, such that files and folders get sorted according to reverse alphabetical order. Alternatively, you can also search "WhatsApp", but I wouldn't advise this because that will take time, and it will also list all the files with names included with the same word. Whereas Going to files manually is too simple.

Step 4: Open Folder named "Media"

You're almost there.

Step 5: Open folder named ".Statuses"

Here you are. You are now inside the folder which keeps all the files viz. pictures and videos which are put as status by others.

Note: Make sure that the hidden files and folders are visible in file manager.

Step 6: Copy the required files to any other place

Once you are inside the ".Statuses" folder, find the required pictures or the videos.

You can just copy those pictures and videos and paste it somewhere else where you want it, preferably inside the DCIM folder to keep it easy for the gallery app to show them.

Target File

Copy the File

Go to the Desired location

Paste the Target File

For simplicity, I attached screenshots from Samsung Galaxy J6's default My Files App. Some features maybe different for different phones and different file managers, but more or less the steps are similar.

Conclusion (TL;DR)

If you are familiar with directories, you have to head to the folder:

Internal Storage>WhatsApp>Media>.Statuses

Make sure hidden folder visibility is enabled in file manager otherwise .Statuses folder will not be visible.

Although this is a great way to save status, without worrying about too many ads in the process, many people will still find it easy to save statuses in one click. For those people, MXPlayer app on android can be a good option because a lot of people already use it for media consumption.
